Care instructions

We want your Sélection Clémentine pieces to last. Most items are pre-loved or vintage, so a gentle routine is best. Always test any product on a hidden area first.

Treat your piece kindly and it will return the favour, season after season.

General care

• Air after wearing and brush off surface dust; only clean when needed.

• Spot-clean with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid soaking.

• Steam to refresh shape and remove light creases (keep the steamer moving).

Wool & coats

• Use a fabric shaver lightly to remove pilling.

• Hang on a wide, padded hanger; avoid overcrowding.

• Dry clean only. If there’s old moth wear, store in a breathable garment bag with cedar.

Tailoring & blazers

• Rest between wears so the structure recovers.

• Steam from the inside to protect the fabric sheen.

• Dry clean; do not machine wash.

Silk, satin & delicate blends

• Steam on low or press inside-out with a cool iron and a pressing cloth.

• Avoid deodorant or perfume directly on the fabric.

• Dry clean recommended.

Leather bags & shoes

• Wipe with a soft cloth; nourish smooth leather with neutral cream.

• Keep shape with tissue or a bag pillow; store in a dust bag away from heat/sunlight.

• Avoid acetone, alcohol wipes, or baby wipes on leather and hardware.

Glitter, metallics & embellished pieces

• Handle with care; avoid rubbing against rough fabrics.

• Do not soak; dab gently if needed.

• Store separately to prevent scuffs.

Buttons, zips & hardware

• Fasten before storing to keep the silhouette neat.

• Wipe metal parts dry after rain to prevent marks.

Storage

• Cool, dry place. Avoid basements and direct sunlight.

• Knitwear folded; tailoring and coats on padded hangers.

Repairs & aftercare

• Small fixes (loose buttons, tiny hems, heel tips) keep pieces in rotation for years.
